Hello, my name is Ms. Farrell and I am so excited to enter my fifth year teaching Social Studies and Religion at St. Agnes Cathedral School. I am looking forward to a fantastic year full of growth and joy.
In Social Studies we will be learning about the first half of American History from Native American Nations to the Civil War. The second half of this American History curriculum will be continued in eighth grade.
In Religion we will touch many topics including the dignity of the human person and how we can grow deeper in faith. We will also learn about how the writers of the Bible were divinely inspired.
This year's school theme is "We are Rooted in Scripture." The Parable of the Sower is an anchoring passage in which Jesus explains how seeds that fall on rocky ground, among thorns, and along the path, will not grow. However, only the seeds that fell on rich soil can grow strong and produce abundant fruit. The seeds represent God's word, and how we must have a strong foundation to nurture our journey closer to Him. We can achieve that when we allow Scripture to take root in our hearts, guiding our growth in faith, wisdom, and love.
Notes and assignments will be posted on Google Classroom each day.
All assignments will have due dates will be posted, please make sure your student is completing them on time.
