Welcome to Spanish!
My name is Señorita Barrere and I am so excited to be teaching my second year of
Spanish at St. Agnes Cathedral School. I studied Adolescent Math Education(7-12) and Spanish at SUNY Cortland for my undergraduate degree. I completed my graduate degree from Hofstra University in TESOL(K-12) and Special Education(1-6). I am a certified teacher in TESOL(English to speakers of other languages) and Spanish (K-12).
I have previously subbed for the Garden City School district as a per diem substitute teacher.
Topics we will be covering in the 2025-2026 school year include: interpretive form of communication(listening and reading in the target language), interpersonal form of communication( speaking the target language and expressing thoughts), and presentational (students present concepts to an audience).
