MEET THE TEACHERHi, my name is Kristen Skura and I am so excited for my second year with the St. Agnes Family! I have been teaching for 6 years but this is my second year at St. Agnes. I was previously an AIS Reading and Math Teacher for 4 years. I received my Bachelors degree in Childhood Education at SUNY Old Westbury in 2013 and my Masters in Special Education at Touro College in 2017.
I have been having a wonderful summer! I enjoyed spending time with my family and puppy. I have a loving black lab/pointer mix named Brutus. I look forward to meeting all my new 1st grade students!

SACRAMENT PREPARATION
In preparation for the sacraments the students will receive in second grade, the 1st grade will be involved in the Sacrament Preparation Program through St. Agnes Cathedral Church.
Each week, we will read and reflect on Sunday's Gospel and how we can put Jesus' teachings into practice in our daily lives. Once a month, each student will fill out a "Gospel Card" in class which will be brought to Mass on the assigned Sunday for Grade 1 students. The completed card should be placed in the offertory basket during Mass. Students may attend any Mass that weekend, but the 1st Graders will be recognized in a special way at the 9:30 a.m. Family Mass.
