St. Raymond of Penafort
St. Raymond of Penafort, whose feast we celebrate on January 7, was a Spanish Dominican friar in the 13th century, who compiled the Decretals of Gregory IX, a collection of canon laws that remained a major part of Church law until the 20th century.
He is the Patron Saint of Canonists.
St. Agnes, Our Patron Saint,
You, Agnes, followed Christ, even to death. Teach us to love Him as you loved Him; to witness to Him as you did, with courage; to put love for Him before our own lives; to renounce the idols presented to us by society; to risk everything in response to His fidelity.
Amen
