Meet the Teacher
Hello! My name is Mrs. Magas. I graduated from Hofstra University with a BA in Liberal Arts and earned my Masters Degree in Childhood Education at L.I. University.
In 2007, I began teaching fifth grade math and science at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Bellmore, NY. In 2008, I became part of the St. Agnes family! I have been teaching fifth grade science, health, and religion classes ever since!
I believe that teachers need to teach students the skills they need to teach themselves. This establishes the foundation for a lifelong learner. I am thankful and blessed to work with such wonderful students, parents, and educators at St. Agnes Cathedral School!

This year, the fifth graders will study the following while using the Diocesan-wide used series, Word of Life:
Unit One: God Works, and in Charity and Justice We Respond
Unit Two: God Became Man so that Man Might Become like God
Unit Three: Through Jesus, God’s People Are Born from Water and the Spirit
Unit Four: Through Jesus, We Can Worship in Spirit and in Truth
Unit Five: Jesus’ Paschal Mystery Fulfills God’s Work of Salvation
Liturgical Year Unit
This year, our school theme is "Pray Beautifully, Live Beautifully". Students will explore God's Word in meaningful ways by connecting lessons and activities to Scripture, continue to develop their relationship with God through meaninful prayer, and living by God's Word. Students will develop ways to pray to God but also find ways to hear what He is saying to them in their hearts.
