6-4 Mrs. Siobhan Powers 

Hello! My name is Mrs. Powers, previously Ms. Lenihan and I will be teaching 6th grade Math and Health (6-1 & 6-4). This is my sixth year teaching and my third year teaching at St. Agnes Cathedral School. I love teaching middle school and I’m looking forward teaching the 6th grade class this school year. 

This year in 6th grade math class, we will be successful at learning many new topics.

Together we will master various topics such as Ratios and Rates, Decimals, Fractions, Percents, Computation with Muti-digit Numbers, and Multiplying and Dividing Fractions. I look forward to teaching the 6th grade students all about topics such as Integers and the Coordinate Plane, Expressions, Equations, Functions and Inequalities, Area, Volume, Statistical Measures and Displays!

We will learn these new math skills and access our prior knowledge in math while continuing to foster our ever growing relationship with God. I am so blessed to be able to share my love of education with all of you!

In Math class, we will be learning about Geometry. We will focus on finding the area of a parallelogram, triangle, and composite figures.

Coming up in the curriculum is  computation of fractions and decimals.
