The new year begions with the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God, followed by the Feast of the Holy Family and then the Epiphany. Our Church offers us time to reflect on all theses beautiful events throughout the Christmas season. May the peace and wonder of God comiing to "dwell among us" fill our hearts with light and hope as we begin a new year..
In Math, we are working our way through Chapter 4, Multiplying with Decimals.
In Religion, we continue our studies of the Seven Sacraments as we move through the feasts and changing seasons of the Liturgical Calendar.
Students are reminded to check Google Classroom daily for all assignments and notifications of upcoming events and due dates.
Each month, the St. Agnes school community focuses and reflects on a different virtue.
The virtue for December is "patience".
As we begin the holy season of Advent, we reflect on how we are called to patiently prepare to celebrate the coming of our Savior at Christmas. We reflect on Mary's patience as she accepted God's invitaion to participate in the mystery of the Incarnation. We recall the long history of God's chosen people, patiently awaiting the Messiah. It is an act of trust in God to patiently await the fulfillment of His promises to us.
The colors of the Advent candles, violet and rose, are the colors of the sky just before dawn breaks...just before the light comes into the world. Patience is truly a virtue. We pray for a blessed Advent season.
