Welcome Back!
Welcome back to the start of the 2025-2026 academic year here at St. Agnes Cathedral School!
Our theme for this year is "We Are Rooted in Scripture" and we will focus on the Word of God as revealed to us in Holy Scripture.
My name is Mrs. O'Loughlin and I am in homeroom 5-2. I have been teaching 5th Grade Math and Religion here at St. Agnes for the past 18 years. I am a proud alum of St. Agnes Cathedral High School and earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from St. John's University.
Fifth grade Math focuses primarily on Multiplication and Division of Decimals and Fractions, Geometry, Measurement, and Graphs. We use the iReady Classroom series.
The students use their ipads to check Google Classroom each day for all assignments and class notes, due dates, and upcoming tests.
The most important subject taught here at St. Agnes is Religion. We use the Word of Life textbook series and the fifth grade students also receive their own copy of the Bible. It is truly a privilege to share the Catholic faith with our students and to attend Mass together each week.
We are looking forward to an exciting and productive school year, filled with lots of growth, new friends, and academic success. May the Word of God inspire and guide us and may our Blessed Mother, Mary, pray for us and protect us always. Amen

VIRTUEs OF THE MONTH
September - Wisdom
Each month, the St. Agnes school community focuses on a different virtue. The virtue for the month for September is Wisdom. We reflect that one of the many titles given to Mary is "Seat of Wisdom". May the Blessed Mother guide us with her wisdom and grace.

School Procedures
Arrival and Dismissal: Arrival for all students - 8:15 am Recess and Lunch - 12:12 - 1:09pm Walker Dismissal: 2:45 pm (via the Newman Breezeway doors) Bus Dismissal: 2:45 pm Absence: Please report your child's absence to the office by 9:00am. An absent note must be brought in when your child returns to school; otherwise, it will be recorded as an "unexcused absence". Your child's dismissal plan should be in the Pick-Up Patrol app. Any changes to the default plan must be submitted by 2:00 pm. Lunch Time: You may pre-order your child's lunch each month using "My Food Days" ( myfooddays.com ). Log onto your account to select and purchase your order. There is a variety of choices available. Coupons are available to purchase for water bottles (10 for $15.00) and snacks (12 for $12.00, 2 coupons for ice cream). Please place the exact amount of cash or a check (payable to St. Agnes School) in an envelope with your child's name and class. Coupons cannot be purchased through the school's Venmo account.
