This year in ELA we will read novels, short stories, and poetry while using reading strategies to discover deeper meanings. We will also learn new writing strategies to create literature of our own as well as continuing to build vocabulary and grammar skills.
It's my goal that students will come away this year with a love of reading and a greater understanding of the workings of our language.

Children must inform me ahead of time that they are in need of extra help!
O glorious St. Agnes, you served God in humility and confidence on earth and are now in the enjoyment of
His beatific Vision in heaven because you persevered till death and gained the crown of eternal life.
Remember now the dangers that surround me in the vale of tears, and intercede for me in my needs and troubles.
Amen.
Blessed Mary, Mother of Consolation, pray with me for the virtue of patience. There are so many times when my lack of patience keeps me from becoming the kind of person God wants me to be.
Guide my thoughts to you and the example we have in your own life. Help me to become patient, as you were patient. Through your guidance, may I become more accepting of others around me. Assist me to welcome difficult times with a patient heart.

Students are expected to use appropriate behavior in the cafeteria and on the playground.
Al stdents must bring their lunch in a disposable bag. Everything must be thrown out at the end of the day!
All students should bring a water bottle back and forth to school every day to keep in the classroom. (Our school water fountains will not be functioning during this time.)
